nanana new art blog.:> i decided to start a more serious art blog. and here it is. i'll try to update it now and then so fell free to visit it.;> new blog.nanana.:>
i still will be posting some art stuff here just because i like to.:D but i guess my private life is not so interesting as art history so let's move the 2nd one to a new better place.;d

you're in for surprise

a long time's passed since my last post about something./well since any post actually.;d/ well the life goes on, nothing important really happens. school, school, school. i try to draw a little, i attend drawing classes at the University of Technology in Gdansk...and i feel like the time is slipping through my fingers, but not so quickly as in ABBAs song.;d

today while scrolling my dash on tumblr i bumped into a painting by Rossetti. and i decided to share my love to him with you.;> he's an absolutely amazing artist as he was not only a painter but also a poet and translator. born and died in XIXth century, along with Hunt and Millais founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood...i'll show you just a few of his works because otherwise i'd not be able to decide which one to post.;d
I believe most of them if not all, will be portraits of  Alexa Wilding or she was just the model as for the painting below.;d
La Ghirlandata
Although she's playing i feel the silence, the harmony and sadness. doesn't she seem to be a little bit melancholic?

Alexa Wilding
I just love this one. drawing with chalk and pencil. it's so gentle and soft.

Lady Lilth
I guess all the paintings i've chosen are melancholic.

 A Sea–Spell
and the last work with originally included text

The Blessed Damozel

The blessed damozel leaned out
From the gold bar of Heaven;
Her eyes were deeper than the depth
Of waters stilled at even;
She had three lilies in her hand,
And the stars in her hair were seven.

Her robe, ungirt from clasp to hem,
No wrought flowers did adorn,
But a white rose of Mary's gift,
For service meetly worn;
Her hair that lay along her back
Was yellow like ripe corn.

Herseemed she scarce had been a day
One of God's choristers;
The wonder was not yet quite gone
From that still look of hers;
Albeit, to them she left, her day
Had counted as ten years.

(To one, it is ten years of years.
. . . Yet now, and in this place,
Surely she leaned o'er me—her hair
Fell all about my face. . . .
Nothing: the autumn fall of leaves.
The whole year sets apace.)
i think it was not the last post about Rossetti.;d someday he will appear here again.
song of the day. well it doesn't really suit to Rossetti paintings but lately i love this song so much!

Mourners of abandon'd love, forever their woes shall grow silent.

so i've learnt that my grandpas brother designed furniture for Ikea.O_o such a shame i never met him.:< he also painted great copies of famous paintings, he did them in the original size and tried to use the same paints therefore he must have done research almost every single time he wanted to make a copy. that's incredible! why did nobody tell me that earlier.:<

in the mist I saw a light dancing through the hazy night

i'm listening to some awesome folk music:D dark folk music and it's awesome:D have some.

Empyrium Many moons ago
A night of december so dark and cold,
I walked a path ages old
The moon amongst the clouds revealed
lightning valleys, forest and field

Embraced by silence I wandered the moor
an endless landscape by my side
when in the mist I saw a light
dancing through the hazy night

i don't know what are they singing about but it's pretty.<3

victorian times.

you know, it always bothers me why everybody thinks that 19th century, the victorian times were so amazing, all these pretty ladies walking around the streets in those lovely colourful dresses, handsome gentlemen strolling with papers under their arms, the carriages dashing down the noisy, crowded streets. Movies about this century don't really show the life. I've read some time ago about the problem with horse carriages in the biggest cities in the end of 19th century. The streets were covered with horseshit so much that there were persons, who were simply moving it from place to place whenever somebody wanted to cross the street, another problem was with getting rid of it. Can you imagine living in a city where almost everywhere was lying horseshit, the smell must have been terrific, and the flies carring diseases. And what about the poor people?weren't they the majority?what about the children working in factories for almost nothing. I've got mixed feelings about this period. On the one hand we have culture, fashion, art, literature, the rich people owning the beautiful houses, but on the other hand we have workers, poor children, dirt, stink, very very visible social inequality. But well what's done it's done. Thanks God we live in this times. And i think it's much better to think about the victorian times as about the era of great inventions, ladies with pretty dresses, gentlemen, rich cultural life and many other positive things, even though it's not really how the world looked like back then./click on the images for bigger versions.;>

A Garden Stroll by Auguste Toulmouche
i always wonder why on earth did they wear so long dresses, they must have been terribly dirty! and imagine washing that kind of dress.

somebody even said that the bicycle was the first step to the womens emancipation.

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

so as you all know today is the 11th anniversary of the September 11. even though i live on the other half of Earth and this event wasn't in my country, nobody i knew died, and i was 7 i still remember the moment i saw it on the television.i believe it was soon after the time it's one of the things i remember the most...kinda weird i think, but often after that i had nightmares in which a plane crushed in the buildings near my house.-.-'  then many many years later i watched many documentary movies about 9/11 but still i found no answer to the question why, but i think it's the Americas own fault._. i'd say that i hope that something like that will never happen, but i can't,  because somewhere in me there's this nagging thought that something worse will soon happen. i can only hope that there will be no world wide war.

Death is the only way

oh dear! i missed the Pre-Raphaelite day! it was two days ago/just on the same day when the brotherhood was formed.:> so just to celebrate it i'll post few paintings i really love. enjoy & share the love.:>

this one is so so so so wonderful, the colours, the beautiful woman and the knight, oh this scene is just so perfect!
La Belle Dame Sans Merci by Frank Dicksee

even though the colours are lively i find this one pretty sad.i dunno why. but she looks like she's got nothing. like everything she cared about is now gone.:<
Lady Godiva by John Collier
another sad painting.i'm sorry i'm just in a mood for these kind of paintings lately.they seem more interesting than the "happy ones" anyway
Boreas by John William Waterhouse
I love this dress! can anybody tell me why women are not wearing dresses like this nowadays:< well but i like to wear trousers more than dresses/maybe because they are mainly short._.
Crystal Ball by John William Waterhouse
i thinks thats all for today. gonna post some more paintings later if you want. well nobody ever comments so i don't really think you care.

what can you see on the horizon

so finally i'm posting photos from my holidays:D part one: Mountains part one.:>

As i said before, i was sure this journey would kill me, but surprise! it didn't.XD
Just to remind you I was in Tatra mountains, the highest we have in Poland. So we took the night train, arriving in the morning in Zakopane, our first point was the mountain hostel "Ornak", so we took the walk through the whole Kościeliska Valley. The next morning we made a pretty long trip, the next day my whole body was aching.xd but going back, we climbed the Ornak top through the Iwaniacka Pass, then we reached the Sarorobociański Peak, went down to the Chochołowska Valley and back to the hostel through the Iwaniacka Pass. It took us the whole day, but the views were really really wonderful. The next day we wanted to reach the mountain Ciemniak, but we resigned because i was too tired to go there, we just got to the Tomanowa Valley. The next day we landed in the hospital because of food poisoning. I spent there almost 5 hours on the drip, but i felt like a new born.xd so i guess it was worth it.;d we spent the night in Zakopane, because it was too late to go to the next hostel. The next day we only got to the hostel on the Kondratowa Alp.  and the next part coming as soon as i'll go through the rest of photos.;d

view from the window in our room in the Ornak hostel

How was I to know that this was always only just a little game to you? today i was in Gdansk at the extra art classes i take at the University of Technology. it was fun i must say,  i found out that i can't draw.well that's funny. anyway i'm pretty tired now, and i think i'll just go to sleep.

the song of the day./just to stay in the sentimental mood/ Melody Gardot Baby i'm a fool

How was I to know that this was always only just a little
game to you?
All the time I felt you gave your heart I thought that I
would do the same for you,
Tell the truth I think I should have seen it coming from

this world is sick
the end

broken pieces inside of me.

i've just seen the most disgusting thing since the man/well at least what was left/ who was ran over by a train.
anyway that's not what i wanted to write about.actually i don't remember what i wanted...i should eat less chocolat. hmmm.... oh wait, i know now!:D

so today on the english classes we talked about time, and the passage of time, ect. and now and then i go back to some events form the beginning of high school and i was surprised to find it was 2 years ago. and i'm still stuck in the same place i've been. and there're no sights of any possibility of changing it. oh God why?

okay, i'm starting to sound really depressing. okay so again let's end with the song of the day okay, if we want to be sentimental today so let it be. Dave Matthews Band Baby Blue

*the title is not from the song but yes, it's a little bit modified line from it.

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

okay, so i'm having an extremely hopeless week. oh and that's and an old thought how can anyone who draws/paints/creates have terrible taste when it comes to fashion?
oh well, you can't have everything i i'll just leave you with black sabbath and go to watch a new tv series.O_O

Us and them And after all we're only ordinary men

okay, i know i'm only 18 but these are just my thoughts. you may discuss them with me if you want to. i'd be even pleased if you do so.

It's harder for pretty girls to find somebody who actually loves them. I'm not really sure if you get me, but let me clarify this. Guys like pretty girls, because it's always nice to go somewhere with a pretty girl, or even they are proud that they have such a beautiful girlfriend, but mostly they care how do you look, and not who you are. I just mean that it's harder for those girls to find the one. The not so pretty girls I think are more luckier, I don't mean to offend anyone or something, I just think that there's always something beautiful in somebody, it might be a smile, eyes, pretty little nose, or freckles, or anything. I also think that people notice something pretty in somebody they start to search other nice things also in the personality, so the not so pretty girls/oh how stupid it sounds, just not everybody can be a beauty from Vouges cover/  can find their prince on white horse more easier. /i'm talking about normal girls not whores./ umm..well maybe i'm all wrong, but that's just something i've noticed and wanted to share with you. you may disagree and i'm open for discussion.
but well yeah, i don't believe in love anyway.
and let's end this not so optimistic or maybe optimistic topic and listen to some good music.
again Pink Floyd Us and Them

Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who
Up and Down
And in the end it's only round and round and round

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain

spent 4 hours in school and i feel like crap._. they changed my favourite place into a new classroom!/it was part of the library earlier._. oh God why?

anyway....i guess i just need to do my stuff and don't give a shit about everything else.
gonna post sth later and now the song of the day. Pink Floyd Time just because i thought on my way to school that it's perfect for Alice in Wonderland.;d

Monday, September 3, 2012

they look like shit, but are quite good.

about my cookies: "they look like shit, but are quite good."

soooo...the school has started..but it's not so bad. tomorrow i have only 4 hours.O_o i don't remember when i had only 4 hours on a normal day.O_O it's gonna be fun anyway.
what else....ummm...oh, right i forgot what i wanted. so let's end with song of the day. Judas Priest Delivering the goods

Sunday, September 2, 2012

oh i want to be somebody, somebody, someone

yesterday i made 2nd attempt to watch the first part of the last Harry Potter movie, but i failed again.xd i don't know, this one is just so boooring. i guess i liked to school life.xd anyway school's starting tomorrow, and i probably won't have as much time as i'd like to have for everything, even on weekends, cause i'll be attending drawing classes each Saturday in Gdansk. mmm..yeah but anyway, today i have for you few of my new works. it's been ages since i've posted my works here.xd  okay, so as i told you earlier i was playing a little with watercolours and that's the result, i'm not posting all works cause most of them is just too bad to show you but i hope you'll like these two. there's only left the song of the day.;D so let it be...Boy & Bear Feeding line /i discovered them few days ago, and they are pretty cool i think.;d their video to Rabbit song is pretty funny. maybe i'll post it next time.;d

anyway follow me on tumblr./you can find there everything that inspires me.;d and check out my dA.(links on the top.xd)

Saturday, September 1, 2012

If you never do anything, you never become anyone.

maybe you have already noticed that i changed a little some post with movie reviews adding few ratings(all are mine, and tell how much do I sth like) i just thought it may just give more information, than what i actually write.;d well yeah, i guess i will write some more post about movies, not only the ones i've seen yesterday or few days ago, but also about few more i remember quite good.;d so here we go.;d

An Education, i've seen it few times, the first time almost 1.5 year ago. It tells a story of a school girl- Jenny extremely bored with her life. One day she meets a man who makes every single day of her life special, she starts to live the way she always wanted to. But the story is not so trite. Action set in the 60s, though it's a quite new movie, so you know that i love every single piece of this movie.;d

story: 6/7
actors: 6/7
music: 6.5/7
all in all: 6.5/7

and a song from the soundtrack, just to show you how awesome it is:D
